She looked up at the scaffolding surrounding the home that had been hers for over forty years. They'd bought the old place knowing it would need all sorts of fixing-up.
It was just her now. Children off to places with jobs to offer and her husband buried 3 years ago. But this home was still hers and it was time to finish the repairs. She looked again at the temporary cage around her house and thought - "this old heart of mine, I love you still."
